I know what you mean about the leather.
For me, it'd have to be a perfect match with the seats & door panels, and of course that's impossible to guarantee.
So all things considered, black makes a lot of sense. A different coloured stitching sounds great.

It's done now anyway, went for the black with red stitching. Considering a re-trimmed with red stitching and most likely white painted plastic fascia piece steering wheel is on the cards at some point and that I have changed the 3 clock/dial part to the prodrive one, along with the Mille Miglia gear knob I have on it, I think it is the best one to go for.

Got it back from the bodyshop. A day late.
The clowns had somehow managed to lock the keys in the boot yesterday.
My spare key's kept at my parents house 10 miles away, so my dad kindly did a 20 mile round trip to get it over to them.
I don't know why these cars have a silly self-locking setting, when leaving the keys in the boot, shutting the boot lid, it then decides to lock not only the boot but both doors as well. Madness.
There's no doubt a way of knocking it off via the dash computer, but stupid that it's there in the first place.
Anyway, the car is now back as it was prior to the roof having a hissy fit so all good.

Picked the car up from the body shop. Admired it's new coat of paint. Then put in its new (well 18000 mile from a breaker) tan and black interior!! Coming along nicely

Done the jobs I've wanted to do for a year

Had an ebay frenzy and finally got around to doing the three things I have wanted to do for over a year now, namely replace a fog light (10 minute job) replace drivers door mirror (5 minute job) and replaced rear wiper (another 5 minute job)

So why has it taken me a year to get around to doing it when every time I use the car I think "must do that"

Took it to the Eastern Europeans for a clean, then home for some poor boys wax, desperately needs a clay bar as the front facing panels seem pretty rough!
Looking to move this summer, really looking forward to off street parking so I can clean it properly myself

Finally had my car back frommthe body repair after the issues with recent prep. Very apologetic and then showed me some fine quality work as they had repainted the whole of the car except the roof and the boot! Looks a million dollars now :-) will post pics after it's been waxed.

Exactly where I'm looking, currently living in Leamington and commuting to Didcot, so a bit of a faff! Probably looking at Bicester kind of area (10-15miles radius).

Having purchased a New (to me) car yesterday, I will putting the Spider up for sale next weekend. Couple of small jobs to do first, like remove the private plate and fit new rear wheel bearings.

Amazed at that considering what you've done to it in a short time. Bored?

Not bored, just gone in a different direction. I decided I wanted an Automatic with a rear seat, that is a little more fun and that is newer.

fair do's, someone will pick up a very well sorted car. Not sure if it was a repeat, but I just caught a bit of a 5th gear with a red Spider on there. Not a bad word said.

Kicked the tyres.

I've got four more weeks of kicking the tyres, until my driving ban is lifted after an unexpected quadruple bypass.

Life does throw you some curve balls...

If it's any consolation mine flew off at 52k,never known this to happen on any other previous cars! New one delivered and quite easy to replace, handy having a son who's a mechanic.
