Bad shunt, sad pictures. Be grateful you weren't in a 156!

That's a real shame.... hope you get a decent replacement, I must say one of the main reasons I'm keeping hold of my 159 is the 6 safety record.

So sorry to see that, hope you are ok. Looks a nasty one, but as others have said, if it is going to happen, you'd want that safety rating.

That ain't nice, at least your ok and as said the 159 platform is very tough. Hopefully the idiot who caused it gets the appropriate punishment, they can't exactly fight their corner at all from what it was down to. Near where I work there is a road that has incidents like that happen (blind overtaking) and all I'm gonna say is the outcomes have been worse.

Even though I was originally not going to, I decided to go ahead and buy the air vents chrome rings as well and fitted them on, along with the new keyring holder, so everything looks subtly improved to me now. Aside from possibly a 2din android auto/nav/radio unit which I may add in the future I'm pretty much finished with my subtle but effective interior changes.

Well, I had some good news today. The Brera passed its MOT with no advisories. Just didn't have any winter tyres or original rims to put on it. Boo hoo.

Have at last got some decent air horns fitted to replace the pathetic sounding single horn I've been putting up with for ages. Out of my way little man, I'm coming through lol.

I bought a set of these rings as well, mainly to see if one would cover a small ding I had put into the fascia when working on my radio, it wasn't major but it bugged me, and I have to say I'm more than impressed, they look really good and yes one of them does cover the mark I had accidently made.
I bought the full set of 8 and glad I did, originally I was just looking at the small rings.
Thanks for finding these, I also bought a new leather gear stick gaitor from them.

Like you JLP, I would like to replace the radio one day, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the original its just a bit ugly IMO.

Nice, I'm pleased it has helped someone try them and like them as well in the process. Funnily enough originally I stumbled upon them by accident, as I was searching for something else at the time. I forgot to mention as well I asked about the rev and speedo rings and the place confirmed to me they cannot do it on the more modern LE/ProDrive/1.75 TBi style surrounds as they just fall off. Perhaps they might find a way or some other company may appear and design one that works with them in the future. I'm not fussed though as the rev and speedo dial surrounds look fine as they are.

Also today got something big that I knew needing doing sorted. I was at Northern Alfa to get my front discs and pads replaced and wow good job I did. I should warn you the pictures you are about to see contain graphic content of next to destroyed brake pads and not much better off discs!

I knew my discs were 85% worn and could feel that braking wasn't the best because of it. I got the pads replaced at the same time for good measure, despite them not having much wear they had seized up badly, so bad they had cracked and just well were beyond being any good anymore. My rear ones are not the best but ok for now, either way I plan to get those done sooner rather than later.

This is my first time of going in to have work done at Northern Alfa and at a specialist, I must say I am mega impressed, Gareth is superb, knows his stuff and was nice enough to give me a lift down to Tickhill to look around and eat and then give me a lift back when done. Price was very competitive too, I'll be going there to get all my future work done for sure, so a big thank you is in order.

Having sheared off the bolt holding down the wiper mechanism last weekend, then blunting off three drill bits trying to remove the bolt, purchased a carbide drill bit, like a knife through butter!
Installed new wiper mechanism, there is still little clearance at full sweep with the bonnet.

Can anyone advise how much clearance they have?

Also replaced the 'faulty LED' think the solder had gone

Busy day today, front wheels off, up on axle stands ready to re-paint my Brembo calipers as they look shocking. I had some nice yellow paint left over from when I did the Brembo's on my Focus RS a few years ago. Looks much better..

Managed to get front bumper off, although snapped the bolt at the bottom, and the other side was just spinning.

Lights are off, ready for tomorrow for me to install my new Angel eye lights and various LED bulbs throughout the car.

So while wheels were off, I cleaned them with my new "Devils Blood", (very good), then removed stuck on tar, then clayed then. Tomorrow I will seal them.

A few pics of my wheels

Wanted to thank everyone for their messages. Been a tough week had a lot of pain been down to see what's left of the 159, only to be told they had a break in at the Yard and all my items have been stolen from the back seat. Will be on the look out for either a nice brera or another 159. Loved that car ?

Sorry to that, have a strong suspicion they regularly have 'break ins' where accident damaged cars have everything of value stolen from them (similar to any hire care that is returned)

Up to St Abbs on Weds, a short section back to Beadnell by Seahouses on Friday and back to London on Sunday pm. About 800 miles altogether. I got the dreaded ASR/VDC/Hill hold not available disease at St Abbs. The starter would turn over OK, but something electronic prevented the engine starting. It finally fired on the 5th or 6th time of asking. Later a new warning appeared, "Have the engine checked" with no hint why. That persisted over 3 or 4 stops and starts then vanished after a fuel stop. Hey ho. No warnings now so it must be alright. Mustn't it?

Got my Halo's lights installed, I was waiting on some replacement bulbs which arrived at 4pm !!

Quickly install bulbs and lights, and get bumper back on.

Finished paining calipers and fitted new decals.

Also installed LED bulbs in indicators, all rear lights and complete interior. Just need to install some resistors as despite being CANBUS ready bulbs the Alfa still not happy with them.

Some pics.

The yellow caliper looks great, though I'd have put a red 'Alfa Romeo' script sticker on.
Please post pictures when they're back on the car with the alloys over them.

Booked her in to see Laurence at Autolusso on saturday morning, he's going to have a look at the hood sealing problem, will it be the ram ? he's hinting that it could be something else, I'll update after.
