Replaced the front wipers, filled the water bottle, changed the batteries on the TPMS and changed a booster on one of the HIDs. Took the car for new front tyres and a new MOT certificate. Advisories on the front pads so I took it round to Gus' and booked it in for next week to get all four pads done.

+1

Used them for 2 Michelin Super Sports a few months back. Bargain deal and quick delivery. Impressed.

New wiper blades on the car to stop the old ones juddering. Got it nice and warm on a mixed cross country run and took it through the Mersey Tunnel. And took the number plates off, cleaned the accumulated mud off the bumpers and put the new ones (personal plates transferred from the Punto) onto the Alfa.

Anyone looking for an 08 plate Caribbean Orange Grande Punto 1.9 Sporting with leather etc etc?

Cheers

Guy

Not quite today but Monday had the following done to my 159:

Cambelt
Aux belt
Water Pump
Oil and filter
Air filter
Gearbox oil changed (made a massive difference)

Big thank you to Ben and Jamie at Alfa Workshop, really impressed with the service and the GTV loan car . If you want to see my cam belt being changed have a look at their website homepage, they used my car for a "1750 TBi how to" guide.

Been to see the new ContiSport 5 tyres that arrived from Tyreleader yesterday.

Manufacture day is 4414 so really new.

Being fitted on Monday to freshly fully refurbished rims. Having the car back on Tuesday. 750 for everything (tyres, wheel refurb & fitting)

Also been to see about having the heated seat fixed. The trimmer said 45 to strip & fit the new pads but I need to be certain it's those that have failed as they're blinking expensive

It must be about 4hr15 from Penrith to yours, so that's over 20 hours you've had to sort a vid out

Is this the finished article or are you a mule? We all know how quiet these 2.4's are on the motorway, I would think the silencers are there for a reason, so just wondering how the tone of the Wizard is at 2-2.5 rpm.

2 to 2.5 you hear it in the car if you press the pedal, if your cruising you don't, under load you hear it in the car, it sounds like something it shouldn't (in a very very good way) but I don't want to make assertions as to its sound to this crowd as they are a hard bunch to please without evidence.... Video's, therefore to follow.

Not at all. It's the dreaded "drone" you and certainly I was worried about. I don't consider it to drone, but others might. It's not quiet, but it was not meant to be, also is not raucous. It kinda sounds like an amg v8 inside the cabin if accelerating hard.

Drop links/ track rod ends

changed the drop links, bit of a PITA of a job involving a blowtorch and lots of Anglo Saxon expletives!
Then drive the car and annoying knocking still there? Bugger!
Now ordered a pair of track rod ends, let's see if that works?
Just been through the mot and no movement in anything but noticed when doing the links that although there was no play in the track rod ball joints, if you twist them radially they can make a metallic clunk!
Waiting on parts now.

Ha ha, waiting outside at 9am for them to open!
I got out to my car to find a nice vertical white line down the drivers door, with some of the paint scratched, got to love peoples disregard for others when they open their doors!
Also noticed one of the centre caps on the wheels is cracked and peeling, are they easy to source?

Any spelling/ grammatical errors are purely there to annoy!

They are easily sourced and if you go onto ebay you will find some interesting alternatives if you want to be different. I bought some of these last summer. The supplier is well known.

Brera wheel caps
