As a general rule of thumb,
Any vehicle (car or bike) with a knock sensor will run better with higher octane fuel.
Old style cars and bikes with timing advance based on physical factors (like advance curves on timing cams) will amke no difference.
the electronic knock sensors will detect when pre detonation occurs and kerb the advance when it happens, this gives the optimum performance from your engine, so In a modern petrol engine the higher the octane, the more/smoother power delivery will be.
So paying more for premium fuel will be better,
whether the increase in price relates to worthwhile performance, economy savings is up to you to decide.......
