I've got Nankang AS1s on the current 159 (19" Ti wheels) and had PHIs on the last 159 (18" Horseshoe wheels).
There is an obvious difference in tyre size for the two, but as a comparison I would say I am ever so slightly happier with the Nankangs. But that may have to do with different sizes and better brakes on the current car.
Have either been dangerous or worrying? No. And I have been out in rain, snow, sun, hail, frost...... every possible weather pattern this lovely country can throw at us.
Both cars have had a remap, so not running standard power.
When the Nankangs are worn, both fronts are at 3.5mm currently, will I replace them with the same? Probably. Will I put a set of Accelleras on? If the price is right, possibly. Will I be spending over £250 a corner? Don't be daft.
