It is unhinged power, and the economy is better than my 159. But inside it just didn't feel like the 159, as i looked around yes it is very well equipped, yes it is very refined and quiet, and yes it has little arms that pass you your belt when you get in so you don't need to reach back to get them
But, yes it is spacious....and here's where it started to go wrong. Every inch of the interior is sculpted to make more room, to be the right shape so you don't hit it when stretching your legs. The trims are made of big, swooping pieces so you dont get the appearance of mis-aligned panels. The list could go on and on.
Now, maybe this is my madness or infection. I like to feel like someone actually said "ah, this would look nice here" or " it sticks out a bit but it looks and feels nice". I like the odd trim panel to fall of from time to time so i have something to play with on my weekends. I like the odd bit of knocking from the underside or a occasional dodgy start. Not enough to leave me stranded, but enough to get me to have a look and get to know the car, properly. Alfa knows this, and has accommodated me perfectly
With reliability comes monotony?
