Broken seat handle
Thanks everyone for the comments,
It has taken weeks to get the handle from the main dealer, so I haven't replied to any of the comments posted previously.
Unfortunately it looks like I may have to follow the comment from "Ghostydog", i've looked at the part and what seems to be involved in the job and it looks like I may be going back to the main dealer.
Although chating to them, (i've been back and forth a few times getting this bloody handle)they don't actually do anything they get a seat upholsterer in and they do it all.
Although they may take the seat out of the car, not sure on that one.
So a possible avenue is to find an upholster on the internet.
The saga continues!
I'll let you know how it does.
ps: for those who are interested.
The handle has two sheathed cables running from the base plate of the handle, they contain the wires that you can see when you lift the handle.
One runs down the one side of the seat, the other the opposite side, both cables end up located either side of your knees when you sit in the rear of the car.
Both sheaths terminate with a clip which fixes the sheath to the frame of the seat, the cable continues down and I'm guessing connects to the hooks which lock the seat upright.
This assembly means that the seat covering has to be removed in order to allow for the correct fitting. Hence the main dealer option and I'm guessing a big bill!
I suppose I could always ask....just for the laugh.
I might be suprised.
