When I switch to 17" winter tyres, the improvement in ride comfort is dramatic, but I also loose a lot of bite on turn-on. This may have more to do with the tyres being winter compound rather than being 17", as I've never tried normal 17" tyres.

The TI is still much better than my previous BMW on run-flats. The ride on those is truly horrific.

Fortunately for the OP, many of the V6 Q4s are on 18" horseshoes, which look great and are a decent ride/handling compromise.

Best thing you can do for a modern BMW is ditch the runflats and join the AA for when you get a puncture. Much cheaper too.
