159 1.9 JTDM recommended diesel additive?

Can anyone recommend a good diesel fuel additive for the fuel tank? One that will help maintain and minimise clogging up of the various bits that suffer!

Prevention is the key!

Use V-Power diesel all the time. I find the increase in mpg I get pays for the extra outlay.

I can highly recommend Millers ecomax, I've only just started using it as I ran out of the 2 stroke oil I usually use so thought I'd give it a try.
The car is noticeably quieter, I did have a slightly noisy injector but not any more and it feels a bit more responsive, I havnt really measured if its better on fuel but I'm going down to Cornwall this weekend so will see if its made a difference.
It was about 10 delivered on ebay and is enough for 5 tank fulls

gus at alfatune recommends wynn's diesel injector cleaner. use it periodically but, rather than following the instructions on the bottle, wait 'til you're down to less than 1/4 of a tank, put the full bottle in, and drive it pretty hard until your next fill up

I prefer to use a premium fuel these days, V-Power, Excellium, etc but always carry a bottle of Millers ecomax for when I'm caught short like this week I filled up away from home and didn't find a suitable fuel.

As VO2Max points out the extra cost is offset by better mpg. Less soot means a cleaner burn and less clogging of the EGR and, if you have a DPF, fewer regen cycles.

I tried an experiment some years back which totally convinced me

I always use V-Power, and have often used EcoMax as an additive. I would highly recommend BG244 - Search for it on this forum - it has lots of good reviews! It's more for a one-off treatment, but I find that every few months coupled with regular use of V-Power does the trick!
