If you were serious about changing diesel over to petrol, why not go for the 3.2 v6??? If you could afford to do the engine swap, along with all the other bits and bobs, ECU, loom, tank, filler pipe also as they are bigger on diesel, fuel pump, filter, possibly mounting points would be different to accommodate a newer engine...
The cheapest option for you would be to remap your 1.9 and delete the EGR and remove DPF, get a decent exhaust and inlet system, completely de-coke your engine.... That will give you around 200+ BHP and over 400LBS torque
