159 Keyless remote security question
Havent been online for a while, but just had a question that hopefully one of you knowledgeable lads could answer
I just experenced problems with my roller door receiver not responding to the remote and called the tech out and he was able to prove that I have some sort of interference in the area causing it to block the signal from the remote.
Ok certain wireless devices such as simple door chime can do this, I was told, and he was able to patch around the problem by installing a tri-frequency receiver, all good as far the roller door goes
He also mentioned car remotes can affect this which got me asking, can the remote send signal be scanned and duplicated by neighbourhood nasties ?
Without going into the ins and outs of that, the relevant comment he made was most car remotes utilise a "rolling frequency" system, however the 159 has been around a few years now.
I know, however Alfas arent "most cars" LoL, beautiful machines.
For my own personal piece of mind, are our remotes in the ALFA 159s this better level of rolling frequency as opposed to the static frequency I had in the roller door before he patched the problem ?
thanks in advance
