Why won't my car do a regen?
I've been left to look after the brera while my husband works away. Problem is that I do only general town driving so the car on a daily basis doesn't get up to a good temperature and appears to not do a regen. Took it to the garage last week as it was idiling badly, struggling to start and appeared to constantly be in limp mode. They advised the DPF was 97% clogged and tried to do a forced regen but it failed, they therefore decided to manually clean the DPF and tried another forced regen. It worked but only went down to 70%, the car is running much better though, idling a little better, never in limp mode and the engine warning light stays off. So I have it back now and in the last 5 days have taken it out for a good hours run on 3 occasions, generally at 60mph (we live in the highlands, it's all A roads) and in 4th gear to keep the revs up but it is simply not doing a regen. It drives well although idling is getting worse again but it's now up to 97% clogged again and claims this is 'normal clogging'. I don't really want to get another forced regen as it doesnt seem effective. Any ideas on what more I can do?
Many Thanks, Charlie
