159 3.2 Q4 transmission fluid leak

Hi Guys,

I’m experiencing an leak from the bottom of the car which I believe to be transmission gearbox fluid. The car is very low and I hit something on the road and when coming back home, checked underneath and there is a fluid leaking noticebly from the car.
Immediately I parked in the garage with a tray to catch it all, after an hour or so it stopped dripping.
The engine guard had a bit of a tear in it from around the same area the body of the car was hit, something on the road on the way home got picked up and tore it a new one

Managed to jack up the car a few hours later and noticed a crack in the casing, see pictures

As you can see the crack is quite clear and also the last picture shows the spray of the oil while it was still being driven home down the rest of the vehicle.

Can anyone identify this part and get a part number? Tried looking through eper manual and found this but not exactly sure it matches the part I'm looking for:

1 CASE - 55354986

Car is 2006 159 3.2 Q4 6spd manual.

Any help would be appreciated, quite certain that all the transmission fluid has been dropped from the car, luckily it was while heading home so looks like it will need to be towed to get replaced. Joy!

Assuming that the internals are OK, that crack could be welded up.

However aluminium welding needs a skilled operator.

However, another possibility would be Devcon aluminium putty - ITW Devcon from here ? - Devcon 10611 Aluminium Putty (F) 500gr 10611 33.32

Either way it must be infinitely cheaper than a new casing
