I had a bit of a bad run of with mine last year.
Had steering pump/rack woes, followed complete brakes overhaul, then had the dreaded clutch and dmf.
An expensive time, but as people said at the time, it was just unfortunate and I had all the work done and now the car runs beautifully!
since buying mine used at 40K the list is as follows :
steering rack changed (warranty) 1st yr
gearbox changed - rattling noise (warranty) 1st yr
clutch master cylinder - (warranty they found problem before I noticed) 1st yr
battery died 1st yr
Alternator ditto year later 2nd yr
EGR valve died refurb fitted 2nd yr
tracking at least 3 times a year
front tyres 15k
rear tyres 30K
cambelt , aux belt and water pump (next week)
knocking noise front suspension suspect bush - investigation next week
add to this servicing, oil changes every 15-18K !
it ain't been cheap but it is worth it when you look at the options of a reliable German Eurobox ! still a great drive and still puts a smile on face when out and about.
