New here & have rather fallen for the look of the 159!
I drive a classic Mini as a daily at the minute, but have always craved some sort of sophisticated comfort from a car ... !
After looking at lots of different cars, recently - I've found the 159 has most of the things I'm looking for, from a car. It's got a beautiful interior, great styling from the outside - It seems practical enough, with the 4 doors, large boot and the 2.4 engine, I read, seems a lot more preferable than the 1.9 etc.
The car in question is absolutely spotless, with full main dealer history. It's a 2006 2.4 JTDM Manual Lusso. It's nearing 100k, however. Is this something that I should be concerned about? It's had the cambelt changed by the main dealer, but I'm still waiting to hear at what mileage this was done.
I seem to recall reading on here that this is usually around 50k? So, is this something that I need to think about doing again? Also - I read that the water pump should be done at the same time? Again - is this something that needs replacing every
Forgive my possibly naive questions - I'm trying to establish as much knowledge before I commit to anything.
We used to own a MK4 Golf GT TDi 6 Speed - But had nothing but problems with it! Worst car we've ever owned - So I'm very cautious about dipping my toe into the modern car world again!
Any information you might be able to share would be hugely appreciated!
