Workround to avoid removing solid pipe
I had the same problem on my sons 2.2 Spider. The flexible hose runs to the suspension strut where it mates with a solid pipe which then enters the Brembo caliper. The pads were seized solid and the only way to remove them was to take the caliper off the bracket and move it away from the disc.
To avoid removing the steel pipe from the caliper you simple remove the bracket holding the flexipipe-solid pipe joint to the suspension strut. The wear indicator wiring needs to be moved out of the way then it is just 2 small 10mm bolts. This gives sufficient clearance to work on removing the pads without damaging the disc. Be careful you do not cross thread these bolts when you put them back, you have to align the bracket carefully with the suspension strut.
The other workround is useful if your 11mm solid brake pipe union with the caliper body is frozen and you seem to be in danger of warping the pipework - just crack the joint with a spanner and carefully unscrew by rotating the caliper itself, holding the nut captive as you go.
