I customised an IC as I couldn't find a unit for what I was looking to achieve. I'll be doing a step by step writeup with lots of pics. In the meantime I'd suggest taking a look at F1JBS' excellent thread - around page 28 if I remember correctly. James did a FMIC years ago on his 2.4 Brera and I based mine on that.

The std intercooler is berried behind the A/C rad, the oil cooler is also mounted on the front of it running at 80c on the cooled side of the intercooler.
The easiest solution to better intercooler efficiency is to simply "shuffle the deck" and move it infront of the A/C rad, just some simple mounts are needed.
but you will still have that huge oil cooler strapped to it. So ideally the oil cooler needs re siting too.
As you have plans to fit a bigger turbo I guess this will involve higher boost too? In that case the std intercooler with crimped end caps will need upgrading.
Any Escort/Sierra cosworth intercooler will fit the space, I have seen 40mm to 60mm cores, 60mm is the absolute limit with space, alot of fabrication is needed though.
Clogz has just repeated my full installation of Rs500 intercooler and oil cooler move and he is going to report on how it went soon.
Adam is quite right about the mounting of the 2260, its totally different on all conections and mounting flanges, I know this from my own investigation and although it would be a fine candidate for a turbo upgrade, a hybrid version of our 2056 is the easiest solution for plug n play.
btw you can get another 15hp/30ftlbs just from abit of water/meth, and it keeps your intake system clean too.
