Hi mate, just catching up with your thread so going to bounce through a few pointers that may help you out to save you digging it out of the forums
Here is some advice around this kit, as it is not without problems:
1) The 5000K bulbs on the 55w ballasts are much more yellow than the 5000K bulbs on the 35w ballasts, this is due to the extra power washing out the bulbs.
2) Watch out for a colour difference after a few days between the bulbs. It seems some of the bulbs are prone to a colour change so check and let the seller know to send a spare set if it does. If it does, go for 6000K, they are much whiter
3) The 55w ballasts suck a massive amount of power out of the headlight circuit, so buy a set of Capacitors for them like these
. They are only 10 quid and solve a few issues. A number of people have noticed that the power drain causes the stereo to cut out for a second when they power up its so bad!
4) If you find your illuminating road signs at night from about 1/2 mile out (and you will), you need to get your hands into the passenger side headlight and slide the small metal slider over to drop a shutter over the lens that makes the beam pattern flatter. Standard pattern is: \_\_ but these 55w kits are better with this pattern: __\_
Other than that, they rock
quick illumination and very very bright, enjoy!
