Hmmm Brera 2.4 72000 mile Service in North Scotland

I'm coming up for my 72,000 mile service in the Brera 2.4 Diesel. Would anyone happen to know of any decent garages in the Inverness/Elgin area? Independents would be the way to go as I guess there aren't that many specialists up this way.

Judging by the rep most dealerships get I am reluctant to give up and just take the car there.

I am also not feeling very flush so might forego the drivebelt/cambelt change until later in year. The car has also just turned 5 years old too so I guess on either mileage or age a belt change is inevitable, right?

Any advice or recommendations would be very helpful.

I dont know of anyone further north than Dundee personally.

Try the North Scotland forum / room?

Its a bit tricky on the 2.4 due to access and needs the subframe loosened off.

If you don't want to go the main dealer route, this would be my choice : Welcome - CP Garage Services | Dundee

They've done a good few jobs for me over the years and I've always been well-satisfied, , and even their courtesy cars are a bit of fun - Fiat Panda's and 500s, .

I agree with CP in Dundee, they did the belts on my old GTV, and always do a good job. Although your not keen on dealer prices, I find Western in Perth are also very good. I use them over the 'approved service centre' in Aberdeen, who arent really interested. Perth/Dundee may be a bit of a drive for you, though. Just be wary of non-alfa specialists, I've found a number up here that have messed up a number of simple jobs on previous Alfa's.

Many thanks for all your advice. Turns out if I had done a proper search there was an equally great thread on garages in Inverness on the North Scotland group. Amateur mistake!

Plus with diesel in short supply right now I might not be going too far to a garage anyway. Ah well.
