Alfa 159 front door speaker

Hi guys,
My front driver door speaker has recently started to crack on the bass. This only happens in the wet weather. I've noticed that when the weather is dry it works perfectly fine. Only when it starts to rain or I wash the car it starts to crackle on the bass. Once dry again it's back to normal. Any ideas? What can be done? Help appreciated.

Could be a bad electrical connection, either with the multipin plug in the door jam, or with the speaker itself. Start by unplugging the door jam plug, inspecting/cleaning, and reattaching. That may be all that's required to reestablish a good connection.

If that fails, take off the door trim to access the speaker, which you can remove and inspect. First check the physical condition of the speaker: the 'surround' (around edge of cone) may be split or detached, and the 'spider' at the back/bottom of the cone may be split or detached; gently push the cone in/out and ensure it doesn't feel scratchy (which would suggest at least a partially damaged voicecoil). Inspect the terminal plug/connections.

Being weather-dependent may be more a temperature-depending issue. Or moisture-related, into the connections.
