Mines a 2.4 JTDM, remap, EGR and DPF delete. Makes 235bhp and just under 400 torques. Car came to me With this work already done.

EGR still in place so guessing mapped closed. The question is this, if the EGR is deleted (mapped closed),are any exhaust gasses allowed to leak past the valve? If so I'll blank it off. What do you think?

Even though it's mapped closed you can still have a little leakage. Best to blank with a plate also. No excuse not to really when it only costs about £3 for a blank plate. 4 bolts and 15mins max to fit

My thoughts exactly, thanks. I'll order one up and whip it off.

Your car and engine: 159 Ti 1.9 jtdm 150
Work done: EGR and DPF delete and Remap.
Price paid:£220
Gains: Car feels much nicer to drive, easier to pull away and loads of torque. can't comment on MPG yet.
Problems:Went for test drive and noticed the clutch slipped on 1 or 2 occasions. recommended getting a kevlar clutch.
Overall experience:Very happy with the work done so far. I done the egr blanking and fitted a DPF bypass pipe myself. Didn't have it dyno'd but was quoted approximately 30bhp and 60nm of torque just from the remap, so was told to expect roughly an extra 10bhp and a bit more torque from the dpf delete. he mentioned that he had a vauxhall on the dyno last week with the same engine and that was running at 190bhp with just a remap. So said that mine would more than likely be running at 195-200bhp.
How you finding the map with SCM, I'm thinking about using them for the same.

when people say they have had dpf delete /removal do they mean the dpf is physically removed or are the internals drilled out???

can the dpf be drilled on the 2.o withoutany issues

They can mean either. On the 1.9/2.4 JTDM the DPF is inside a large metal casing which also contains a catalyst. Sometimes this is removed from the car and replaced with straight pipe. It was the preferred option back in the day when DPF removal wasn't so heavily policed. These days, tuners are more likely to take the DPF off the car, cut the casing open, remove the internals and then weld it closed.
