My car has just developed a squeek too. I first noticed it this morning when manouvering around the street. Every time I changed gear and engaged the clutch/throttle I would hear a squeek like something was moving.
I also found later this morning when I arrived at work that when cruising around the car park looking for an Alfa safe space, blipping the throttle in 2nd gear also caused the squeek (clutch fully engaged).
I think something is definately moving. It seems to occur as some throttle is applied, which makes me think that something is moving as the engine 'twitches/rocks' with the torque that is being applied (?). But yet it only requires a small amount of throttle to cause the noise. The more throttle applied the more noise (to a certain degree - I think).
I contacted the garage that it was fixed at just yesterday, and they think it could be a joint on the exhaust that is moving. Rather than a loose engine mount. I assumed engine mount as it has just been in for cambelt amongst other things, and thought the mount had to be released to perform the cambelt service, but I was wrong. The mounts weren't touched.
I think it is something that has been disturbed whilst work has been done on the car, because I'm certain the noise wasn't there before it went in to the garage.
Doing my head in already!
If it persists it will be going back for a coat of looking at.
