Just an update.......basically i've had replacement driveshafts (left and right) and also an extra mod where the dealer puts a spacer onto the shaft to move it out slightly.
I still have the noise but it comes and goes. It's not constant like before. The mods have significantly improved it but not taken away the drubbing noise totally.
I took it back to my dealer where the service manager drove it and he even admitted that he could still hear the noise.
He proceeded to say that the next step would be to get some kind of technical support involved that would inspect the problem on behalf of alfa.
Problem is i got the impression he tried to warn me off a little; he said if they come back and say "thats just how the driveshafts are" then i will be billed the labour costs as they could have the vehicle for a few hours.
But if they say "yes, that is a problem we will fix and pay for" then they have to put a warranty claim in and it still might not get done!! he made out that he has good technicians and wouldn't want to undermine them. I was also kindly told to maybe take it back to the alfa garage where i bought it from as the current dealer has done this as courtesy!!!
BUT HE HAS JUST ADMITTED HE CAN STILL HEAR THE NOISE!!!!
Does an alfa extended warranty cover driveshafts etc because even he didn't know exactly what it covers?
So one minute it's a warranty repair and the next they don't want to look at it as it's wasting their time.
Im not sure if I or others stand on this but i think it's an absolute joke how they just try to brush you aside.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
