I've had the 159 LE for a week now, and until now I've just pootled to and from work. But today i have had the joy of a round trip to and from Torquay (to pick my boys up).
I did a very sensible 70mph all the way there, apart from the stupid 50mph and even 40mph sets of road works on the M5.
Stopped off at SimplyAlfas to show her to John and Colin, both liked the car.
Got to Torquay, no problems.
Then the journey back. After clocking over 55mpg on the way down, I thought I would try the erm, remap.....
Wow. The pull in 5th and 6th is fantastic. Feels like a 2.4 to me. Torque just keeps on pulling and pulling. Silly speeds are easily available. Thankfully I had my boys with me, so I didn't explore any of these figures, will leave that for next time!
And still managed 46mpg for the whole journey.
Very planted, very comfortable, perfect.
I was worried I had made a mistake letting the GT Q2 go, but I know the 159 LE is a perfect compromise all in all. Handles well, is comfortable, economical, quick, and looks amazing.
If you still haven't got one, get one.
