Have I caused the engine warning light to appear - 12V power near rear view mirro

This weekend I wired my black box camera to my new Brera 2.2 SV. The camera is stuck behind the rear view mirror. I found an unused wiring loom tucked up behind the trim and worked out which wires were 0V and 12V (switched on with ignition). This turned out to be the black and yellow/black. I've tapped off these wires for the camera power supply. All seems to be working fine except there is now an engine warning light on the dash. Is this just coincidence?

I've ordered a OBD cable and will check with the FiatECUscan software for the fault code.
