Been in today for Oil change, Ancilliary Belt and few minor things
We took the whole Air Inlet Tunnel off to fix the resonator box vibrating on the PS Lines
Quite a bit of oil in there from the oil mist scavange piipe. Runs to behind MAF from other side of engine.
There was a clicking from its source (solenoid sound) when the Rad fan came on.
What is the root cause we have yet to resolve.
We have tried the Forte Engine Flush and Protect in the short term to see if has dislodged any debris from where it should not be. We had the Electronic Stethoscope out too and no discernable causes for concern in the engine which is now up to 92000 miles.
Downside to foping all of this was the location of slight dripping from pinprick rust hole in Rad - lower drivers side.
Had to top coolant up last week - part of weekly checks.
Fortunately bought half price new one from Veloces for fitting next week.
Side question - anyone know the function of the rubber pipe runing down behind the wheel arch lining from the Power sterring. It does not connrect to anything but has a metal collar on the end?
