I hadnt added anything to this thread previously, because I had no experience of Accelera tyres. However when we bought the Spider new tyres had been fitted to the front, I thought they were Bridgestones, tread looked the same, but it turns out they are Acceleras. In the dry they have proved to be quiet and grippy without any cause for concern, a little tramlining though, but I used to get that when I had PZeros on the 159. On Sunday though, on a couple of occasions in the damp conditions I was a little wary of the grip. When we got back near home, there is a roaundabout which I will normally throw the 159 into, the Rainsport 2's gripping like poo to a blanket. However the Acceleras just wanted to go straight on! I have warned the wife (main driver) not to push them in the wet, I will change them for some real tyres before the winter.
I'm sure Acceleras are fine for some conditions, maybe urban driving, but I dont think they have a place on an Alfa Romeo, well not mine anyway.
Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".
Driving Brera S 2.2, wife drives 939 Spider 2.2 and there is a 1972 Spider 2000 S2 in the garage for fun days.
