Ok i feel obliged to fight my corner here.
First of All as my wife tends to be the main car user during the week, i go over the car with a fine tooth comb on a regular bases, checking for door dings caused by irresponsible car park bay choices, scratches, marks and of course the dreaded but common alloy wheel scuffing
It is due to these routine inspections at which point a wash and wax is also being carried out
I can confirm the main deterioration of this tyre has occured over the last two weeks.
Second, As for the wrong size, having put a little bit of time and effort into this i have come to the conclusion that the wall size whilst incorrect only really effects speedo (i was doing 50 on speedo yesterday sat nav said 48 about right me thinks) and increasing the possibility of wrecking the alloy on a pot hole which could quite easily happen regardless of tyre wall size, so this has nothing to do with consistent damage to the whole of the tyre wall.
Third, Load rating, this is a potential issue i admit, Total load rating for tyres is 615kg which if on all fours (which they are not pirreli p z nero on rears and yes correct size and rating
) taking in to account car weight (2150KG) this would spare me 310kg both my wife and I are on the lighter side and as for my 7 month old son and collie dog we are well within the total load rating of 2460Kg (more if you add in the extra 270Kg extra available from rears)
The difference between 91 and 98 rating is a staggering 540Kg's in total and does ask the question who the hell thought it was good idea to put them on in the first place.
Even taking the weight difference in to account this tyre was never put under the kind of strains required to make this amount of damage acceptable. Surely you can admit to that.
Also i think it is important to understand that i only entered my experiences on this thread as it was a thread about accelara tyres and our experiences, this was my experience and it shall be my last, I am fitting bridgestones to the front this afternoon and although still not a 98 rating it's close enough, i just wont be offering the mother in law a lift
