You have the exact same issue I have, only mine still does it after re-map, DPF & EGR removal. The reason I had the work done in the 1st place was to do away with the "surge" you describe, but it didn't.
Does yours pull through the 1800-2000 rpm area cleanly when you "hoof it" a bit?
I've posted on stefancirillo's own thread as well about this trait/fault.
I've also had inlet manifold / throttle body cleaned, an EGR blanking plate made and fitted, turbo vacuum tested for leaks and a new turbo soleniod fitted, all to no avail.
Just spoke to the re-mapper, Gus, today and it looks like we have done everything we can to eliminate all other options and we are now at the last resort, sticking turbo vanes.
Already spoken to my local independent, Gareth at Northern Alfa Performance in Maltby, who has done all the post re-map diagnosics and remedial work and it looks like Gus has confirmed today what Gareth was already telling me.
Will let you know how it goes. Looking at a bill, just as well I trust Gareth, just didnt want to believe the bad news he was tellling me
