Are any of these people, listed back in January, still interested, so we can get up to a viable number?

Anyone on the sidelines thinking whether to do this.... Go for it!

I was one of the first batch and couldn't be happier, they transform the car

And it's quite a fun project too, I have zero electrical skills, and I'm crap at DIY so I think with all the guides and people to help, literally anybody can do this

Unfortunately this project does require that it happen in batches of 10 so it's stalled until we hit this number or get a little closer unless people want to pay the premium.

This isn't a commercial venture! Others do this for profit, I do it for the community

I have 1 alternative solution if we cant get a full batch of 10. I have a number of the prototype boards that never got used. They are a bit "rough and ready" and use through hole components rather than surface mount. I know they work as they have been running my own headlights since the start! I never upgraded mine and kept the prototypes in just to see if they would last! been nearly 3 years now!

I can hand make a few of these if people get desperate.

I'll admit I don't understand all the electronic wizardry so the through hole bit versus surface mount would probably be lost on me anyway!! I'm more than happy to have whatever you can provide, Jay. I completely appreciate that this isn't a commercial thing so very grateful for whatever you can do.

I would be interested in a set

Havent really read into this yet but I was going through the parts list for powering the Halos and the links are dead on the jabawoki site.

Has anyone had good results opening the cheapest headlamps available on the auction site?

Ok peeps, this forum is great for some things but so so great for others.

Project Halo UK now has a facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ProjectHaloUK/

Here we will collect interest in buying sets of controllers from a wider audience so please migrate accross and register your interest.

I got my headlights from newvehicleparts and once I got the hang of it, they came apart relatively easily. Heat gun is definitely the easiest method - I couldn't work it with the oven method (although plenty of others have).

Hurrah. What does the other kit consist of for 150? Halos, power bits and all wiring extras? So would be 250 + new lamps to do this?

Hi Jay,

Are you still looking for someone to make up the 10?

If so, count me in.

I'm not really in a position to commence the project in the short-term, but it defo needs to be done at some stage and if it gets another batch ordered, I'm happy to be involved.

Will probably need some help when I do get the ball rolling!

Regards.

Are they equally easy to put back together? to avoid any gaps which may allow condensation in?

I have all the gear and equipment for this mod, except new headlamps.

My cars an 07 159, I have a decent heatgun, how viable is it that I'll be able to open up my old lamps with the use of the heatgun or should I just not bother and wait until I can drop 160 on two new lamps?

Cheers,
Joe.

Personally i'd go with new headlamps ... I did this and kept the old ones just in case I change to another Brera in the future so i could fit the originals back.

Ahh it's annoying as I could save some money if it actually works out that the glue isn't that strong. But if I risk it and end up melting my only set of lamps then I'd be in the ****.
