Is there a difference in your rings ?

The 2 bigger have a blue shine and the little is just white.

I ordered the white ones.

Pffff , nothing seems to just go fine for this project

Is this ok ?

I also have a problem that the controllers seem to "reboot" , when they do the voltage drops on the psu.
I think its getting to hot , lowered the voltage on psu output to 10v and then it doesn't reboot.
That is a voltage problem. the PSU you are using is not powerful enough. it needs to deliver at least 4amps to run both controllers. It will be getting hot, browning out and causing the controllers to reset.

Quite fancy having these lights on my 159 TI, but it looks like I might need a degree in brain surgery to get these installed!

Coxy had that once, they do 8000K and 6000K versions and they sent a mixture instead of just 6000K. Speak to the supplier and get them replaced.

Message for Dave who contacted my via my blog.

I could not reply to your email as it bounced when I tried. PM me on here instead but the short version is:

Congrats on the new ti, they are lovely cars but I unfortunately don't have any spare time to make a set of headlights for you. if you ask on this thread someone else might have the time and be willing to be paid for the activity so don't give up yet!

I have controllers if you need any but after this batch is gone, I'm not making any more.

Cheers
Jay

Brera 3.2 V6 Q4

Just laser cut some switch plates for the Halos, centre button. They have a white led so look like a halo when they're lit! ?

Also added a dual USB charger to connect to cigarette lighter wiring and Bluetooth iPad home button to control the dash installed iPad mini.

They live again!!

After many hours of lengthening wires and hand crimping the connectors on with pliers because I don't have the right crimpers..... We're back in business
My fingers hurt

Just need to find some suitable boxes now.
Also one of my lights has a problem with the motor now, just keeps buzzing
I've just cut its cable for now, that shut it up I'll fix it another time, hope my beams not hideously out of alignment :/

Big thanks to Jay for convincing me to get it all up and running again, and for the replacement controller

By the way, in the wiki, the wiring diagram has the diameters of the rings the wrong way round, just in case anyone gets confused
Outer is the biggest diameter, inner smallest.

Seller doesn't answer on aliexpress

Tried to reorder : This product is sold out or the seller discontinued selling this product.

Did a search and found them on ebay : http://www.ebay.com/usr/zotootech?_t...p2047675.l2559

So ordered them again ...

Again difference in color

Tried to fit the 90mm in the 85mm , but will be to big.

Contacted the seller again on ebay, maybe he will reply now.
On aliexpress still no answer , contacted aliexpress , they will also try to contact the seller.

Starting to give up on this project , maybe somebody has some rings laying around ?

Already have an answer on ebay , but I'm not to happy with it !

For the color, we manufacture the rings as soon as the stock sold out, because the stock changed very quickly, so maybe different batch products will have a little difference that is because the led chip supplier can not make sure each batch chips will completely same, that is why you received the rings have a little difference. But the color is very hard to control to be completely same. I hope you can understand.

What kind of difference? The 8000k and 6000k are very different. So if you are talking minor shading then I am not sure what to say. Can you post pics?

Maybe I am to picky

But my neighbor saw it also , that's why I ordered new ones.

Here's a picture but in real its clearer.

The seller will see what he can do about it , on ebay he answers quickly.
He still sell the rings on ebay , if somebody still wants to buy rings.

He ignored the comments that I made on not replying on aliexpress

They look bluer than mine, but not all that different from each other...

Mine are very slightly different to each other, but not enough to bother me.

Anyone sitting on this, get it done
Anyone can do this, just takes time and patience, but no electronics experience needed, i'm a tard when it comes to these things and i've done it.. twice
and they look so amazing Makes me smile a little every time i see them reflected back in the car infront

They all look 8k.

What controllers you using? Black or green? Try swapping the connection from the inner ring to the outer one on the controller and see if it moves the problem.

Long shot, but worth a punt.

Thanks

The black ones , its not the controllers , already swapped them.
Connected the rings to a 9v battery , same.

Another picture where you can see the difference.

Will have to hear what the seller says tomorrow , he will look if he can find a solution.

Got a satisfying answer :

It will take about 7-10 days for the new same color rings.
For your next 3 sets rings, i can ensure they will be same color, and we have ordered the new chips, the next 3 rings will be make with same batch chips.
When the same color rings finished, i will send you the photo about the three rings together , then you can check it .

So If somebody still needs some led rings and doesn't bother difference in color , I have a few
