Okay here is the thing... I searched for the rings in my country, so checked some stores and I found the rings..
Well I have a bit of a problem... As I need :

Inner lens = 95mm
Middle Lens = 90mm
Outer Lens = 85mm

I managed to find just 85mm and 90mm rings... My question is can I use 90mm ring for "Inner lens" will there be much difference, I mean will it be visible to eye?
Thanks

Do you plan on using the halo controllers I designed? If you do you cannot use any rings other than the ones I list on the project page. If you are just installing rings and will not have any intelligent control of them then you can use what you like

Right now I did not planned to use controllers... I found some cheap but good glowing rings nad planning to put them on my existing healights Just wondering will this 5mm make any difference to "Inner lens", I mean will it fit right?

It is smaller than the lens so should go in but might obstruct the beam of light.

So version 2.2 is here and ready to be shipped!

This is what they look like.....

http://dev.jabawoki.com/alfa-forum/I...217_112646.jpg

There are some minor improvements on the boards over the last version but the major improvement is a better PCB from an alternate supplier than last time. Chnages have been made to polarity to cope with some improvements so make sure you are using the correct wiring as per the wiki: http://projects.jabawoki.com.

Here is the first batch ready to ship:

Happy New Year

Btw, I am now holding stock if anyone else wants to join the project.

Hi jay, tried to send you a pm but it's just not happening with my phone

Right anyway I've had chance to have a look at the psu and the connections I can get at and all seems sound...

Current state is that the centre ring had gone from intermittent flickers and now constantly is lit at about 5% brightness and flickering...

The other two rings are ok, but I think all 3 flickered at one point...

So I guess either the controller or the ring itself is failing...
If it's the ring it's pretty much game over for me, no way I'm taking the lights apart again, and the rings are glued in place....

Bit disappointed now

Nah, its the controller for sure.

I have seen them sit at super low intensity when the NUD (led driver) has a weak earth which could be due to a manufacturing defect. I'll post you a fresh one out so you can swap it. Send the the faulty one back and I'll get it fixed with the manufacturer and put it back into spare stock.

If it does turn out to be the ring (and i doubt it is) you will be surprised how easily they come out and the units come apart again so dont panic just yet

Cheers

Ironically it will be an easy fix. hot air removal of the NUD and reseating it will likely fix it.

There is value in not mounting the controllers under the headlights to make swapping them in the event of failure a lot easier than having to take the bumper off!

+1 to the controller location ... I also ordered 6 pin super seal connectors for the controller to headlight connections, to make everything more accessible if need be (hopefully not necessary). The feed from the lights will be female -> male ... and female -> male from controller to rings ... That way nothing gets crossed

Got my controllers in the post today - looking very good indeed. The project, for me, is on the back-burner for a while after suffering a swirl flap through the turbo. Will get these built soonish, hopefully!

Hi Jay

Found these on eBay. Would you consider to integrate them to project HALO?
I think that would look nice and this way no need of using stock indicator light

I have looked into them before and it is technically viable but needs some changes making to the controllers and the code. I am personally waiting until RGB rings are better quality before I look at a compete redesign!

when I finish messing about with mods to the power on mine I might look into a set of Rears. I have already had several ideas around what could be done but mostly they need me to have a 3D printer and I keep spending my spare cash on making it go faster!

Please check the parts list on http://projects.jabawoki.com/index.php/Project_Halo_UK for a full list of parts, links to suppliers and costs. This project requires you to assemble the units yourself.

I can supply and ship 2 controllers for the Halo's to Malasia for £120 but you will need to source all other parts direct from the other suppliers.

Thanks
Jay
