That ones on the wiki Rob. It looks like an interesting technique although I am not sure if anyone has tried it yet.

hi jay.

i have done a dummy run to test wiring, and was over moon that all 3 halo's in headlamp worked.

only thing is the red led on the psu?. is this correct as i think it should be green.

however would the halos work if psu is faulty?

Hi mate, glad you like them! If the Halo's worked the PSU is fine

I think the red light is a power light from memory!

thats great was unsure as there is a green led also.
i noticed several people have mention extra 1.5A fuses fitted between PSU and controllers.
are these blade fuses or just standard inline fuses? and do you recommend i do this too?

either type of fuse is fine, but keep them at 1.5a per controller. so either a single fuse between the PSU and both controllers rated at 3amps or 2 rated at 1.5 amps each, on each power cable to each controller. Yes I very much recommend you do this as some peoples PSU's have failed and caused catastrophic damage to the Halo controllers.

HALO HIDs

All,

Has anyone got any pictures of connecting after market HIDs to their HALOs?

Do you connect them to the ballast, or split the output somehow?

Jay says in the FAQs that it can be done just want to plan ahead in case I need to get a particular connector.

Cheers

The Halo's are completely independent of HID's so you fit HID's the same way you would on a non Halo Car. Just remove the old bulbs, connect the ballasts and put the HID bulbs in.

My Driver side rings started flickering today

Intermittent and i *think* it might only be when the headlights are on, they seem to flicker between about 70% power and what looks to be about 100% power... flicker randomly for a few seconds, then can be normal for a few minutes, then start flickering again.

Don't know what to check.. Jay, what's the logical order and methods of checking what's going on?

hmmm.....

All three rings in just one headlight?

1) Check the power to it, especially the super-seal connectors as they can go a bit dodgy
2) Check that the wires are still mated to the PSU properly and not loose
3) Hit the headlight hard a few times to check for a loose internal connection

If all of that is ok then something on the controller could have failed or be loose. Double check the power connections and if its still duff email me and i'll post you a new one so you can swap it and send me back the faulty one in one go.

Hmmm Halo Wiring

Jay

Just a quick one on the wiring diagram. Is 1in connected to 1out etc? It's just a bit confusing that the indicators are connected to the inner ring, when the indicators are in the middle ring???

Is anyone using the Instagram tag BTW? Be good to see other peoples Halos

There was a little sticker on each controller box that told you which wires went to which in/outs

|I dont have one to hand but if someone else does please post them up!

I've got that Jay, it just doesn't seem to make sense to me

It says IN 1 Indicator goes to OUT 1 Inner ring which is 95mm. But my indicators are in the middle, and my outer ring is the smallest, 85mm, not 95mm. So should I wire IN 1 to Out 2 as that links the indicator to the middle ring? Or is there some magic in the box that unravels this?

There is NO relationship between the ins and outs mate

just wire it up as it says on the label and the micro-controller will do the magic inbetween

Had another look today, seems to be just the inner ring that was flickering today...

No loose connection in the light, banged it a few times and makes no difference, will have a look over christmas at the PSu and wiring to the controllers and let you know..

Hello everybody... Am very very interested in this project and planning to make it true... I read some pages here but its just lot of pages to read..

Can anyone tell me what are the exact dimensions of the rings used for the headlights...
I don't thing that they all are the same dimensions... :/, I think that I will need 3 different rings for every headlight.

So I just need exact dimensions of rings if anyone can provide? Thanks...
