I totally understand and would be exactly the same in your position. I just don't want to see you have a problem that causes you a headache!! Your controllers will arrive in a couple of days.

I tested power consumption today on 9V for all the rings, it's 1,2 Amp, so it's 200mA per ring...

I have the rest ready for programming and testing next to me, although I am being totally selfish and after a 12 hour work day, going to the gym!

That said, I struggle to sleep after the gym so may yet get them programmed, tested and boxed tonight ready for posting tomorrow

I must admit, some of the places I have sent the controllers surprised me! We truly are a global site full of crazy Alfa Owners!

I'm with you on that!

I have never really done any electronics and the whole thing is a bit daunting for me.

I'm gonna start tomorrow by splitting the lights and seeing if i can make sense of the headlight wiring

I reckon wrapping the 3 clear lenses in foil is a good tip to keep the heat down on them

Mine have just turned up. Nice piece of kit. Circuit boards nicly designed. This will be a winter project for me. I intend to buy a new set of lights as the ones I have look a little weathered. Get it all working on the bench in my own time and then fit it.

Good Idea

I have cooked first lamp and glue game away first attempt.
160 degrees for 5 mins.
Also found that when you remove the glue use roll it to a ball and use it to clean the remains of glue from lens this saves any scratches to lenes and was quite quick to do..
installed halos in first lens, looks wicked.
only concern when putting back reflector not to overscrew it as it could cut through halo wires..

Struggling already

Got the 1st light open, 160 degrees for 5 minutes was too long for mine, part of the black plastic around the two mounting brackets distorted, bent them back and should be ok though.

Trying to get my head around the wiring now, struggling because on the wiki, the housing is completely disassembled, whereas i'm looking in through the 3 holes in the back and don't really know what i'm doing

"Cut the black wire coming from the junction area of the light"
Is that the Square module between the Dipped beam and the indicator?
