No,
As a rule only the factory fit xenon's have the washers fitted. As were not offering the Halo conversion for these it leaves this port free in the engine electrical box for us to use as the power feed for the Halo's.

would be interested to hear about the kit form of this therefore saving the expense of a new set of headlights.

do you have any projected time scales for release?

Indeed, sounds like the perfect solution doesn't it?

...you might want to start from Post 1 and spend a few hours reading before you buy the kit version though

I think almost all the cars don't have washers. But I'm betting they do have the relay.

Don't worry I've been following the thread for some time!

I've had headlights apart before for a angel eye project I did on my 156 and I rather like a soldering iron, so am not too shy of doing it DIY.

its not the soldering iron bit so much as getting the 159 headlight apart. Its a different beast to the 156

Is this the reason why Halos won't be available for cars with factory fit xsenons?

Yes sorry this is true !

But then we have said is all along. As the units are just so expensive to purchase the cost of conversion would be so expensive, 1400+ just for the lights. Then your xenon ballest is fitted where we retro fit the control units, that's before we get into the wiring which I have no idea is anywhere the same.

Lots of re engineering and then we can't test them

Yes its a huge thread so I know thing are missed

Now that I haven't tried, would love the excuse to do so mind. Am guessing a lot of patience and a heat gun factor in to it somewhere.

You have another customer!

It was around this time last year when I first joined AlfaOwner, it was to watch videos about a ukrainian Brera with Angel Eyes.
Then I saw this thread start and came back every couple of months - so many hurdles have been overcome!

I want to congratulate both of you Coxy and Jay! You guys are awesome.

Not quite, as Coxy states, the significant factor is cost. New headlights are around 700 each for factory fit Xenon's and we haven't done any R&D on them. If we assume they are the same exact internal lens size as non Xenon lights then you could install a kit into your own Xenon's at your own risk. We only use the washer relay as a convenient source of "switched live" in the engine so you could get that somewhere else on a Xenon, car where its already in use for the washers. So, in short, yes you could have Halo's in a set of Xenon headlights, but you would have to buy a kit from us and its on you to install at your own risk

Yes, essentially

Happy New Year to all of you guys, this project is really amazing...
I had a bit of time during the holidays, so I red the whole thread. How is the project going ? Is it possible to purchase the DIY kit already? is there an exact price for it?
I have one thing in mind...since I'm writing from the continent, it would be good to know whats the difference between the RHD & LHD lamps ( In terms of putting the rings inside of course )

Hi Motorhaz, thanks for the support!

Nothing is available in kit form or or other form at the minute until we are 100% happy with the product. So far we are happy though, my dev set are working perfectly and I know Coxy's are as well.

There is no difference between the LHD & RHD lights other than the shields inside them that create the beam pattern __/__/ or \__\__ so there would be no issue in a kit version being installed in a set of LHD headlights, or LHD headlight versions being available to buy pre-assembled.

I know everyone is waiting for this mod and impatient, but we are doing what we can to make it happen I want it to snow to see how they react to cold temperatures and ice before I am personally happy.

I'm sure your Missis wouldn't mind if you replaced the contents of your freezer with a headlight cluster and a car battery for a few hours.

whilst i appreciate the effort that has gone into this project, i must admit i am not a fan of making a alfa look like a bmw. this is tacky car kitch and detracts from the simplistic beauty of the giugiaro design

You are of course completely entitled to your view, although I don't see this mod as making our Alfa's look like BMWs. For me it's about enhancing that design you mention and personally I think the results look stunning (car kitch??). There is no car on the road with three DRL rings as far as I'm aware (certainly no BMWs!).

Keep up the good work Jay and Coxy!

This mod was always going to divide opinions.

If you read the thread from the first post you will see that even I decided against it in the early days

the halo design is iconic bmw, hence why no other credible car designer has copied it
