Would you consider selling the relay on its own? And could it be wired up to 2 rings instead of 3?

D you mean the controller?

The relays just handle on & off. Its the controllers that run the rings through the effects and state changes.

We are "probably" going to be able to sell the controllers in 2 or 3 ring forms, but they would have to be supplied with rings & power supply to operate properly.

So a kit could be ordered for a 147, 156, GT, 159 etc for DIY install.

We just need to measure the internal dimensions of the other listed models headlights to determine the ring size needed.

Each ring size needs a different amount of power which is regulated by the controller so I can adjust this when I make the controllers by changing the resistors used. Also, the dimming for indicators would be different on a 147,156 & GT as the indicators are in different places. so teh code would need to change slightly for those versions.

Yes they are fine with after market HID, along with LED side light and indicator bulbs as long as they are canbus friendly.

Firstly.... why?

Secondly, yes I could, in fact I could make then work with many rings each side but it would involve a major redesign and I don't know any cars with 4 or more circular headlights each side so stuck with 3 as the maximum needed for the 159.

making it run 2 or 1 ring is only a software change, adding a fourth ring is hardware.

To be honest I'm not going to spend time doing fogs the headlights take long enough to do as it is.

The whole point of Project Halo was to create a simple to install, self contained, UK road Legal set of DRL's that complimented the looks of the car. Lots of different options have been explored and that did include Fogs, but the additional wiring and effort add in fogs just didn't stack up against the aesthetic improvements.

As it stands, we have built plug and play headlights with only minimal installation wiring and made it all as simple & self contained as possible. In the future other areas of lighting improvements can be explored but for now, Project Halo is limited to the headlights, as either a DIY kit or a complete set of Headlights.

Sorry Gibs, the fogs out of scope for now.

Thanks Pete, its been a long time in the making and we are on the home straight now.

I have had to modify the code and the design of the circuits since the units have been in Coxy's car to cope with additional stresses that the cars electronics put on the controllers, so we are still in dev stages, but at least the final stages of dev!!

awesome work lads, looking forward to get my hands on a set!

what do you reckon the life span of the LED rings will be? i only ask this as all the LED sidelights ive ever had have blown within a year or two.

LED sidelights blow easily due to them only having basic resistance added to stop can bus errors. LED's are actually very delicate and the electronic systems in a car are like the wild west, which is why the controllers I designed protect the LED's and make it a happy warm and friendly place for them to live and burn brightly

The LED rings are quoted as having 20000 hours lifespan, but I can't vouch for that!!

What I can say is we have done everything electrically viable to guarantee the LED's the most optimum / safe / stable conditions fully isolated and protected from the car's electronics system so they will last as long as they possibly could.

These are all on the list of videos to do, my Gopro Black is charged and ready to go.

Unfortunately they are not on my car at the moments as I need to silicone them back together due to the weather before taking them out for testing, the last thing I wanted is to fill them full of rain water.

Not quite sure how well it will come across in the dark thought. You can see in the videos the lights are washing into each other due to the light levels and that was at around 17:30.

Give me a few days to get them back on the car and I'll see what I can put together.

The "Alfatune" full works
60mm Core Full size RS500 FMIC
AEM W/M Injection
Koni struts / Novitec springs
Grooved & Dimpled discs and pads
19" Prodrive wheels, Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Halo's HID's & LED's
Hub dyno'd at well over 500lbft at the wheels ! and that's limited.
Thats over 750 Nm for you figure fiddlers

We have already mentioned that we would only produce the full kits for the RHD UK spec.

This is to keep things simple as you have to remember we are only doing this for the love, this started as a "lets see if it can be done" that got out of hand

+1

We need to get the UK cars sorted first then we can look at EU versions.
