Timing belt

Hi folks,

I'm just coming up to 75,000 milesm on my 1.9JTDm. I'm 2,800 miles away from the next service (the 72,000 one) in line with most peoples opinion I'm intending getting the timing belt done early. Along with the tensioners, whould I also get the water pump done?

I'm more than likely going to use my local garage, who has done other work on the car, and are reliable and trustworthy as well as having reasonable labour charges. Any idea of how much I should be looking to pay, what the parts cost and how many hours they take to fit?

On another matter has anyone exchanged or repaired electric window motors in a 159, my rear passenger side is making an awful noise and doesn't open, I presume the regulator is broken?

Any ideas of how easy job this is to do, how does the door panel come off?

for my 2.4 the water pump and cambelt kit + fitting cost me just over 350 but that didnt include a service as my car had only just had one.

Get the pump done, yes.

A local garage should be OK on the 1.9, its straightforward, the 2.4 is a better left to specialists as its tight and some subframes etc. need manipulated.

Definitely get the water pump done. 100% essential.

At your mileage you will need a new auxiliary belt and tensioner too. So budget for those parts.
