I purchased my 2.4 auto 159 in June this year and am very pleased with it, having previously owned Fords, Land Rovers, Peugeots, BMW'S 3 and 5 series Vauxhalls etc. She had 23,000 miles and FSH, and now 30,000.
The 159 is right up there though recently it has developed a problem. I do about 300 / 400 miles per week, when I first got it the engine would do its normal regen maybe once every 3 weeks, shaking engine, turbo boost dropping to zero, low MPG, this would pass and on I’d go...
Maybe 6 or 7 weeks ago the regens became more regular possibly every week and it now has started to develop a violent shudder on intermittent cruising and acceleration that does not really pass until I drop gear and accelerate hard to where I reach a point where it drops gear itself and then it may return.
The pick up on acceleration can also vary sometimes its very responsive other not so...
I took it for a service to my local Alfa specialist (Northants Alfa Romeo, Higham Ferrers, Northants
) who gave it a full service and confirmed no faults were found on the computer etc.
This was a Friday, on the Saturday I was driving, and the shudder returned, it then went and for 10 days it’s been ok.
This morning driving to work it did its standard regen which passed OK and was fine. I have just been out and again the shudder has retuned intermittently.
I purchased some BG244 (http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...l-results.html
) last week and put this in with a full tank of BP ultimate yesterday.
Any clues on what may be happening...
