My Alfa Spider very frequently shows me this alert while driving:
"Closing of the convertable top has not completed" (translated from Dutch)
When starting to drive everything is fine. Then after driving a while (sometimes a few minutes, sometimes 30 minutes or an hour or 2 hours), this alert is shown along with a beep sound. I then first have to stop the car, and press the button which closes the convertable top for a few seconds, and then everything is fine again, the alert disappears but it will come back for sure at some point. This is of course quite annoying and also not the way it should be.
The alert most of the time shows up after a small bump in the road or something similar. I would like to stress that I'm not driving like a maniac when this happens
It can happen already after a very small bump.
I assume the bump causes an electronical connection somewhere to be lost which results in the alert, but this is only my best guess.
My car dealer, where I bought this car 5 months ago, tells me that they cannot reproduce the error (they have tried), which I think is weird, although it appears quite randomly so it could be true. However, they also tell me they don't know what a possible cause could be. This I find very strange, because I assume it is a problem which happens more often with convertable tops.
Does anyone here know what might be the issue and how it could be solved??
Additionally, I also have some issues with the left side window. This window opens a little bit automatically when opening the door and should close again when the door is closed. However, sometimes the window doesn't close after closing the door, it stays open for the small it opens automatically. Not sure if this is in any way related to the other electronic issue I seem to be having.
Another small thing is that the trunk of the car opens not always when pressing the button on the car key. I have to press many times sometimes to get it open. Again not sure if this is related.
Anyone with some ideas?
