I know almost nothing about OBD other than having used Fiatecuscan to communicate with my 2007 Spider 2.2 JTS. Unfortunately, my Spider not directly supported by Fiatecuscan, but selecting the Brera 2.2 JTS works OK for most things.
The convertible top (hood) is the most complicated thing on the car and, naturally, it's the one which is not functioning properly.
And, so far I haven't found a great deal of information about the unit.
Is it possible to do an electronic diagnostic check of the components associated with the top? There are multiple hydraulic actuators, several electric motors, countless hall effect switches, and who knows what else. It seems to me that Alfa (or the Germans who I think designed and built the top) would have anticipated problems and provided a way to chase down mysterious problems using some sort of diagnostic equipment.
Where should I look for help? Is there another car using a similar top? Is there a piece of software other than Fiatecuscan which supports diagnostics for the convertible top?
