I have recently changed the bulbs on my front dipped headlights with ease but I am now looking to change the front side lights from the stranded dull yellow lights but I have no clue as to access the side light/indecenter compartment. please can someone walk me through how to do this?
It's a bit fiddly, but not too difficult.
First, you need to twist off the weather-proof cap on the light housing. There's a sort of 'lug' to help, and there are arrows on to tell you which way to twist. If it hasn't been off for a while, it'll probably need a bit of effort to loosen it off.
Then, if you put your fingers in, feeling towards the top of the housing (where the sidelight is) you should feel a plastic loop - this is attached to the housing of the sidelight. Give this a tug and it should come free.
That's the easy bit. Putting it back in can take a bit of fiddling. You need to hold the end of the loop and try and 'feel' the bulb back into the socket - sometimes it helps if you look at the front of the light while you do it to see if you're close.
You may need to twist slightly from the horixontal as it only fit in one way, but once it's in you should feel a 'click'.
Then just twist on the housing cap again!
Hopr that helps!!
