Yes focus on grip first then handling/ballance.
Stef is not keen on lowering the car and we're talking about going round a roundabout as fast as possible until understeer sets in, speeds are too low for any aero effect, so its just mechanical grip at work if we rule out lead feet on the peddles unsettling the car.
In Stef's case the biggest single factor will be tyres, handling/ballance will be improved with sports springs/dampers if he wants to fit later.
I have G logs in my thread to back this all up, and yes I've done the flying round roundabouts until I was sick!!lol
I must admit I did everthing else first and left tyres till last, my ballance and handling is excellent as you will see if you watch my Brands Hatch vids, but you can't make a poor tyre grip no matter how much you spend on suspension tuning/trick diffs. When I put better tyres on, the car came to life and ballance and grip was then fantastic - it will pull 1.1G in a turn!
The problem is going fast isn't cheap but put tyres at the top of your list!
