Is the battery on the Brera and Spider and presumably the 159 particularly awkward to remove, or am I just going about it the wrong way?
The battery seems to be retained by nothing more than a strap, but this strap is held by a bolt tucked away down the side of the battery. Access to this bolt is quite retricted.
It's even tighter than the 156 on the 2.2.Put some Blu-Tak in the 13mm socket so that the nut doesn't drop down, otherwise it's off with the undertray! On mine it helped to release the plastic clip on the oil cooler pipe to squeeze the long extension in.The original battery was enormous and very heavy as well as being a tight fit-nearly lost fingernails getting it out.The replacement Bosch Silver is much smaller and lighter so the insulation jacket needs a bit of fiddling to refit.
And you need to take the strap off to check the level.
