159 window problem

Hi guys,

My drivers window would not drop or raise. After checking the problem I found the cable/wire for raising and lowering the window had snapped. Was wondering if anybody has seen this before and also can the cable be replaced.

Yes, had it done (under extended warranty) on my 159Ti last last year. The window had been making 'crunching' noises prior to completely failing...

I was told the entire regulator assembly had to be replaced, and it was.. Mind you the garage left a herd of cattle run over my door card during the repair... not happy, but that's another story..

I have this exact problem right now with my rear near side window, Ive had it apart and its easy to replace by yourself, onyl problem i have is window comes down on its own with vibration.

You can get regulators off ebay cheap ... dont worry about them being cheap cos the origionals are junk and have made in tunisia all over them

easy job though, hour max.

Yep had this problem before with the wire snapping.

I bought a cheap one off fleabay and that lasted a few weeks before failing also...

In the end I got one off Jamie Porter's workshop (Alfa Specialist) and its worked perfectly well ever since.

As said above, it's a simple job to do yourself and save on labour charges if your cars out of warranty!
