The Brera has been treated to the kit Chris talks about in the OP. 55W 5000k - Very smart indeed for £38, and very OEM. Just the right colour IMHO, not much blue, but temperature high enough to be just the other side of white from yellow. The proof will be when it gets dark.
It was a bl00dy pain (in some parts literally) to get the bulbs and wiring positioned correctly, plus the lamp housing cap back in place with the HID wiring through it. I thought I was going to trash the bulb on the drivers-side - the induction piping is just in the wrong place - so it took a lot of wiggling and scraping to get the bulb aligned with the hole. Hopefully no damage done to the bulb. I must have knocked the beam alignment slider (the one that changes the lamp for use abroad) as the pattern had a slope up to the centre, but all fixed now. (interesting how the RHS lamp has that feature also, so for a short while it looked like: \__\__ Now back to: \__ ___, if you know what I mean)
The sidelights look laughable in comparison. What to go for - LED's or blue-painted halogens?
