159 diesel tickover issues
Sorry my second post is a problem. I've done a search but not really found anything specific so far.
I bought a 159 2.4 in the week, I was due to collect it on Thursday but the dealer phoned me to say that it wouldn't start.
Apparently they took it somewhere (Alfa I assume) and they found possible issues with the EGR/AMM and the camshaft sensor. From what I was told it was an EGR issue in the end, he told me that after the car would start it would only rev to 1000rpm then cut out.
Anyway, the garage that 'fixed' it had it on test and all was well, or so they said.
After collecting the car I've noticed that the tickover is very erratic, it varies between about 650 and 850rpm and sometimes sounds like it's going to stall.
I'm guessing this is still related to the original problem (whatever that was) and they haven't actually replaced the EGR valve at all?
I'm afraid I'm not very clued up with diesel engines.
