On my 159 there is a flat spot and a little lumpy under acceleration so decided i would clean the maf sensor.
Got the part off and can not take the sensor out of the casing as there is no screws to undo it!??
Should there be screws?
Can I still take the sensor out or do I just spray it with carb cleaner in the housing??
You shouldnt use carb cleaner, it leave's a residue, you should only use isopropanol (alcohol).
Every maf I've ever seen has always been held into the casing with 2 screws, sometimes they are the security torx type screws
No screws, if you get a can of Carb cleaner with a straw on it, you can bend the end slightly and poke it through the end.
I have proven good MAFs for a 1.9JTDM and 2.4JTDM. I live in Bournemouth, work in Southampton (Botley). I want £45 each if your interested. You are welcome to swap out and try if you like. Im also going up to Rowde next sunday, so could meet up if interested.
Just an update for everyone (who's interested)
Met with ben today and got the maf sensor from him. Put it on before I had to go to work and the drive is loads better. My maf was obviously really dirty or f*****d as the car drives so much smoother and idles a lot quiter.
