Ecu meltdown! or simple fix.
Hi All I have just passed my first month as an Alfa owner great car looks "stunning". 1.9 JTDM 2008 lusso in silver.
Car started off fine 3 days, then had an intermittant cruise controll, Didnt work for first 6 miles in the morning). Then I had the alarm message "alarm system inactive both were intermittent faults and would work then not work again. The car is booked in for an ECU reset? This was suggested bythe supplying dealer. Then today just parking up in work carpark and hill start hold brake inoperable came up and a yellow warning triangle on the dash. I turned everything off and took out the key and tried again. fault still there But when I tried to start the car nothing ! It came up with car safety system in-active and would not start or even turn over? That was using the clutch as normal. I tried the brake pedal and the car started straight away and the fault seemed to have cleared?
The dealer said that due to the old batterey going flat and a new one was fitted he said that the ECU should have been reset But he didnt know that at the time?
so the car is having a full ECU reset tomorrow. Does this sound feasible to older owners?
Anyone else had similar problems please post.
