OK guys, so I finally received the original TI mirror covers in brushed aluminum, to my surprise the covers are plastic with a brushed aluminum finish.
I did a small DIY for those of you who wish to swap the mirror covers.
1 flat larger screwdriver
1 set mirror covers
Time: took me 5 minutes (for both sides)
Tilt the mirror (glass) as down as possible
Take the flat (larger) screwdriver and carefully but firmly pry the middle part (top section) of the mirror glass. The mirror will "pop" right out
Disconnect the two wires that connect on the mirror glass (brown and white). If you forget the correct way they where hooked up, don't worry. The brown wire has to be plugged in the towards the window of tha car and the white one towards the outer part of mirror.
Step 4: (almost done)
The mirror cap is held in place by 4 clamps, I could only see 3 (see picture below). Once you have located the clamps, close your mirror (see pic) and unclip the cover. You might need to pull a bight until it gets loose. (Do not forget, your mirror should be folded when you pull on the cover).
That's about it, reverse the order for putting on the new covers.
Here are the pics (sorry about the quality, did them in my garage with my phone).
Hope this little DIY helps some guys out.
