159 Tracking/Wheel Alignment driving me crazy!
I have had my 07 2.4 JTDm 159 Sportwagon for six months now and am, on the whole, really pleased with it. When I first bought it (approved used), it handled beautifully but now the steering wheel always needs to be held slightly 'right hand down' to go in a straight line.
It has been kerbed once (which I wish I could blame on someone else! D'oh!) but not badly.
I have since had four new tyres and it has been 'aligned' three times, once at kwik fit ( who did a pants job) and twice at a local private garage who did a very thorough job. They have all the latest kit but when I drove home, whilst it only slightly veered left, mostly road camber at a guess , the steering wheel was still right-hand-down to go in a straight line. I took it back and to their credit they spent over an hour re-checking...
(i)Alignment (print out seems to show it is now ok)
(iii)For sticky brakes
(iv)They swapped wheels around to see if that helped
(v)Took it for a drive with me and thankfully agreed I'm not insane and it is wrong
But 120 pounds and one morning of my life later the car still turns left with the wheel straight. I don't won't to go down the road of physically adjusting the sterring wheel as the seems a bit gash.
It is driving me bonkers and ruining what is otherwise a great drive. Has anyone had this experience? I don't know what else to check now. Please help.
